has been a smooth commute all morning long. we have had no incidents on the stand or problems associated with the approach to the bridge or leaving the bridge at the west and if you are heading al towards 101. 101, the golden gate bridge is a problem free all morning long. a light ride in marin county. in the east bay, we have not seen any hot spots develop on 580 as we have appeared. the commute still looks good. a couple of motorcycle accidents. your ride on the south bay has been good most of the morning. it is still very light and easy. illegal slowing for the marin ride southbound, but not enough to consider yourself. the drive times are still under 30 minutes from nevada to the golden gate bridge. >>mark: a quick break as the kron4 morning news

police chief. howard jordan was sworn and as interim police chief. >> as the interim chief, i intend to make solid decisions. the term interim will not apply to my decisions. i will make decisions as though i am the chief. i tend to lead in that direction. >>mark: he was the interim chief before anthony batts was appointed chief. his top priority is the order to make numerous reforms in the department. if he is unable to accomplish that, the city runs the risk of giving up control of the police force to the feds. it permits equal not be named until that issue is resolved. >>darya: stocks are going up this morning.

>>james: here is a live look from the james lick camera looking back towards the sky way in san francisco. sunshine coming down. we are starting friday on a wonderful note. clear and mild this morning. another warm and sunny day to day. probably one of the last warm days for a little while. temperatures in the '80s inland. let's take a look at where temperatures are right now. in the next hour or so, around 9:00 a.m., we will begin to see temperatures begin to climb. if we push the clock

until noon, that is what we expect 80 degree weather in trench around the bay. by 3:00 p.m., here is a look at a few locations. most locations will be in the mid-upper 80 degree range. the 680 corridor could get their lukewarm this afternoon. here is a sneak peek at what we are expecting for the weekend. temperatures are trending to the downside as we had to the weekend. next week, inland highs will stay in the 70 degree range. a cooler forecast on the horizon. enjoy the warm weather while it is here. >>george: pretty steady traffic. we have not seen much in the way of changes. we still have a back on the

bay bridge and no hot spots. the backup reaches to west grand and almost to the berkeley curse. in 18 minute drive time. the 880 approach is heavier in the usual, but still your best bet to the bay bridge. on the san mateo bridge, here is highway 92. the volume is up a bit westbound that there are no delays. it is a 13-14 minute drive time. the approach is slow. the golden gate bridge ride is equally good. sunshine this morning and no fog. friday mornings, we typically see a little more traffic northbound even during the commute hours. that is exactly what we have now, but there is no backup. let's get a look at your east bay ride. there is just a little slowing of interstate 80 and interstate 680 for the commute into walnut creek but still very

light. looking next at the south bay ride, hardly any slowing for the trip on 101 northbound, especially to 80 and 85 looks great. the north bay ride is only slow around the civic center for 101 southbound. all in all things are looking pretty good for the overall commute. >>mark: we are keeping our eyes on wall street. batted expected retail sales for september. a rise in the dow jones, up 92.5 to 11,570. google reported quarterly earnings, 2.7 billion for the quarter, 9.7 billion in revenue. that is a 33% climb. google shares are up 6% to $592.50 a share. linkedin is up over 5% as

>>james: blue skies, barely a cloud in the sky. we have a couple of high clouds that otherwise we are looking good with a lot of sunshine. mild temperatures. sunny and warm this afternoon. a carbon copy of yesterday. maybe one or two degrees cooler. clear and cool as we head into the evening and prepare for tomorrow and the weekend. there are some changes. right now a fairly mild forecast in terms of temperatures. in the north bay, low-mid-50s. in terms of our afternoon temperatures, you will see in the south bay our warmest temperatures. oakland does coming in at about 80 degrees. across the

north bay, a similar conditions. in san francisco it will be another beautiful day. as look into the pacific, we are not looking for any rain. out of this system will get clouds and cooler air. watch the inland highs dropped from the 90 degree mark it down to 84 on saturday and then 79 on sunday. at this point next week, we will be a lot cooler. let's get an update on the commute with george. >>george: lee are still watching a relatively good commute. at the bay bridge toll plaza prc improving drive times despite the backup. the drive time is dropping 16 minutes for the westbound bay bridge and the

880 approach continues to get better if despite the fact that is reaching between 80 and west grand ave. we have not been tracking any hot spot so far this morning. on the san mateo bridge is low on 92 and then another 13 minutes across the bridge to get over to foster city. golden gate bridge traffic has been pretty smooth. diller is a little more traffic northbound on friday mornings. even though there are only two lanes, it is able to handle the traffic. we are lighter than usual on the south bay freeways. to 80 is heavy is at the 17 interchange. the north bay ride is a little heavier in northern iran coming down from lucas valley road past

hamilton field and through iran. the drive times are still under 35 minutes from highway 37 in a bottle down to the golden gate bridge. >>darya: police have identified the victims in wednesday's deadly salon shooting in orange county. along the dead is the shooter's ex-wife. scott dekraai is the man police say opened fire at the seal beach salon. people gathered for a prayer service last night to honor the eight people were gunned down. they held a candlelight vigil in the parking lot in front of salon meritage. dekraai opened fire on wednesday killing his ex- wife, five other women and demand. there is one woman who is remaining in critical condition. >>mark: the mayor of oakland has sworn in an interim
